Sea Serpent

Materials: Polymer Clay, Acrylic Gouache, UV Varnish

Date: November 20, 2020

I went through a phase of loving the combination of reds and blues. How the combination of colours can create an effect of both hot and cold/fire and water.

I experimented with a new technique by adding details using a carving method after baking. Turns out polymer clay cooperates with this method. I love finding new techniques to add to my arsenal and have fun along the way.

This creature is a combination of a dragon and a serpent with claws for gripping onto rocky surfaces while able to slither across the ground with ease. Best of both worlds!

After finding out that I can bake polymer cay multiple times, I worked on different sections of this creature to avoid ruining already completed areas. The front claws were last on the list due to their fragility.
